Haye Kesteloo. As you can see in the photos, the drone looks very similar to the DJI Mavic 2 series. The first thing that stands out is how much this drone resembles the design of the DJI Mavic 2 series. First off, the design, colors, and materials used very closely resemble the DJI Mavic 2 series.
The DJI Mavic 2 series is a very sturdy and well-built drone. Underneath, on the belly of the aircraft, we find a number of sensors. Again very similar to the DJI Mavic 2 series. We see an LED light, as well as the dual vision system, infrared sensing system and the Bottom Auxiliary Light assists the downward sensors in low-light conditions. All seem to have been carried over from the DJI Mavic 2 series.
The gimbal and camera setup seems to be the same design as we know from the DJI Mavic 2 Proalthough looking closely at the photos, it seems to be a smaller sensor size.
It does not seem to be a one-inch sensor. No surprise here really. Although not much is known at this point in terms of specs, it does seem that the DJI Mavic Air 2 will have degree obstacle avoidance. A new photo shows two sensors on the back of the unmanned aircraft as well. Furthermore, this time around it seems that instead of mounting your smartphone to the bottom of the controller, your device would now be connected at the top.
That seems to be a much more intuitive location. It seems that there will be more toggles and buttons at the top of the remote controller and possibly at the bottom as well.

The Samsung will fit. I get an ipad Mini 4 in fine. Bigplumbs Posted at The Samsung will fit. Brad Bilger Offline. I use a Note 5 with an otterbox on mine. I didn't even try to fit it in. I just pop it out of the case and clip it in the holder. That would give you a bit more room in the thickness of the phone. Might want to give that a try. Good Luck. Haven't had a bit of problem in the past 9 months that wasn't attributed to a faulty USB cable.
Numpty Offline. Was a tight fit with my Samsung Note 8 couldn't close the arms parallel and that made me uneasy so I bought a refurb Note 3 off ebay, fits like it was made for it and works great.

I was able to take it out of the box, setup and fly indoor. This morning, I tried to fly it wiht only phone without the controller and it worked fine.
Now that I am trying to fly with the control and the phone as I did yesterday, it falied to link. This is what i did. Open up the menu and choose the first option to connect the drone to the RC Trun on the drone, and press the button untill it beeps once.
Click on "Linking" on the app A couple seconds later it returns "linking failed" I've tried to change the order of powering up, and everything. Nothing seemed to solve this problem. What's weired is, the app shows "RC connected" even when everything is turned off. The FW was updated to the latest yesterday. Thank you. Twitter Facebook Favorite Like 3.

Inheriting the best of the Mavic series, this ultraportable and foldable drone features high-end flight performance and functionality for limitless exploration.
Your Life, Now Epic
The Mavic Air is the most portable DJI drone to house a 3-axis mechanical gimbal, with its angular vibration range reduced to 0. Set in a triangular formation, gimbal dampeners help create even steadier shots.
With support for recording p fps slow-motion video, the Mavic Air captures all your epic high-speed adventures. New HDR algorithms help you obtain the right exposure settings intelligently, according to lighting conditions.
Overexposed or dark areas are processed for more natural transitions between highlights and shadows, while DSP acceleration allows for more efficient shooting. In addition to a Micro SD card slot, 8 GB of internal storage let you save photos and videos directly to the aircraft and export files through its USB 3.
Expressing geometric precision, the Mavic Air's arms fold flush against its aerodynamic chassis.Yoel gamzou faz
Magnesium alloy brackets reinforce the seven onboard cameras, rear vents dissipate heat efficiently, and the primary gimbal camera is recessed for better protection. As tall and wide as a smartphone when folded, the Mavic Air is an ultraportable drone that stretches the boundaries of what's possible for a device its size.
The dedicated remote controller uses a foldable, low-profile, ergonomic design to hold your smartphone for maximum convenience. Detachable control sticks store inside the remote controller to pack more comfortably on the go. ActiveTrack can sense up to 16 selectable subjects simultaneously, 2 letting you choose the right tracking subject.
With higher tracking precision and broader scenario applications, ActiveTrack follows targets even when they're running, jumping, or cycling. All are just a tap away and will get you those epic selfie drone videos without needing to think about composing your shot.
Fun, simple, and intuitive, SmartCapture offers a new and interactive way of controlling the Mavic Air by hand. Launch and control the drone with hand gestures, then take photos or videos however you like. TapFly works in Forward, Backward, Free, and Coordinate modes, and you can adjust flight speed to suit all your aerial needs. Together, they collect and transmit information from the surrounding environment to the high-performance processor for more precise hovering and better flight performance. As its name suggests, this RTH is triggered when the Intelligent Flight Battery is depleted to the point that it may affect the return of the aircraft.
This type of RTH is one that is best avoided, just like pilots of airplanes never want to be in a situation where their fuel light starts blinking. Failsafe RTH happens when your drone loses signal for 3 seconds when using the remote controller or 20 seconds if using Wi-Fi.
How to use DJI’s Return to Home (RTH) Safely
When it kicks in it will do one of three things depending on how you have set it up. Firstly, if you have it set to RTH then it will ascend to the set RTH height and start to fly back to you, and once you get the signal back, then you can cancel it. Secondly, if you have it set to Hover then your drone will just hover in its current position, so you can walk towards it and re-establish your signal.
However, if you fail to re-establish your signal and the Battery RTH is triggered then the drone will either return home or land depending on your Battery RTH settings. Once the button has been tapped the drone will start its flight back to its home point. It can be stopped anytime by pressing the Flight Pause Button on the remote controller or by pressing the Stop icon in the app.
Something worth remembering is that if your drone is less than 20 meters away from you when you press the RTH button then it will land just where it is, however, if the landing zone is hazardous then it will try to find somewhere safe to land or just hover at a low height until the pilot takes control and lands it manually. The only real reason to turn this off is if you plan on flying over a reflective surface like water as the light being reflected back messes up the VPS.Zaaptv activation code free
Landing protection is another useful setting as the drone will scan the ground before it lands to make sure it is suitable. Precision landing is when the drone briefly pauses after take-off and takes a photo of its landing zone so it can be more accurate when it comes back as it matches the picture to what the sensor sees below it.
RTH Obstacle Check setting means your drone will check for obstacles during its RTH and if it detects one, then the drone will ascend to avoid it. If you have this setting enabled it means your aircraft will still check even if you have disabled Obstacle Avoidance for the drone. All these settings are turned on by default, and it is a good idea to keep them turned on all of the time.
If the option is enabled, then the Spark will not ascend if already at the height of 2. If RTH is used less than meters away, then Obstacle Avoidance will be enabled, and the Spark will avoid obstacles if the lighting conditions are adequate.

Hopefully DJI can find what must be a very simple solution to this problem that occurs with a significant number of windows PC owners. No difference. I replaced my mavic air fly combo package, and I have the exact same problem with the new one right out of the box. I finally found a solution! I believe that the mavic air owners who have no issues with the controller connecting to dji assistant 2, had already had older versions of dji assistant 2 on their computers with good drivers, hence they had not problems with the newer software versions.
Punchbuggy Offline. Good outcome wworral - well done for resolving it. I'll try your approach to see if there's any difference there. And otherwise, the idea that others may not have the issue may be because they don't uninstall the old and reinstall the new - they just install the new. I would have thought that would do a full, clean installation, but hey Hi Everyone. Thank you for your feedback. We will update you soon once we have feedback.

I have re-calibrated my controller and the drone, yet the messages still occur. I have had no crashes or hard landings. I have tried to calibrate the compass, but when I spin the drone, noting happens. I have also tried the IMU calibration and when I hit the "start" button, nothing happens. Any ideas of what I can do next to rectify this problem?
DyfedG Offline. Hi BryGuy, you saved me from uploading a load of photos. I have almost the same problem, but both accelerometers and both gyros report 'Data error', not disconnected. I did contact DJI support, but as this was one month out of warranty, got little help. I am looking at buying a new IMU and hoping that will fix it. Will dismantle and check all connections first, and if the problem still exists, apply a little percussive maintenance directly to the IMU!
DyfedG Offline DyfedG lvl. Hi, I took apart the MA, cleaned and reseated all the cable connections and rebuilt.
